Happy Birthday!

Happy 8th birthday James!

We are so blessed to have such a wonderful boy to be apart of our family.  It is hard to believe that you have blessed our family for eight years.  You are a very loving, caring, selfless, carefree, lovable, imaginative, spiritual, happy child. Never loose that sparkle in your eye.  We enjoy all the spontaneous imaginary play and your love of using your imagination and love of all things.  Thank you for being apart of our family, we wouln't be the same without you in our lives and hearts.

Happy Birthday Mari!

I know this is a little late, but I just wanted to feature Mari for her birthday last month.  She is now 9 years old and has blessed our life more that we can imagine!

Mari keeps us on our toes and our minds thinking.  She is such a joy to have and is very curious about the world that she lives in... always asking questions about how this or that works, why is it like this or that...  She is also the one who takes after me (Nic) in the artistic talents.  She loves to draw and write stories down in her journals.

For Mari's birthday party, she wanted to have a sewing party, and that is just what she got.  She only had a few friends over, but that was just fine with her.  They each got to sew their very own little tote bags and learned how to  make some friendship bracelets.  In the above picture, the cake is supposed to be a pair of scissors (I cut the cake free hand), but it also looks like a butterfly, oops.  The girls had fun doing all the sewing and ironing all by themselves, and once they got the hang of making the knots for the friendship bracelets, they were in heaven.

Happy Birthday Charlie

Charlie is now 11 years old!  Where does the time go?  It seems just like yesterday that he was born.  His birthday was actually on the 6th and I am just now getting time to sit down and actually have time to blog about his birthday.

Let me see, as his friend Kimball asked, "Are you short or is Charlie tall?" 
With a chuckle, I responded, "Both."

My once little munchkin is now almost as tall as me (He comes up to the top of my nose, right @ my eyes).  It seems just like yesterday I was bringing home this little bundle of joy (well... not so little, he was a whopping 10 lbs 3 oz when he was born).

 I cannot imagine what my life, our family, would be like without him in it.  He keeps us on our toes and teaches us patience each and every day.  He has had, and still has struggles in life and always seems to endure them without complaint.  Charlie is very kind and loving, and bossy (just like his mom).  He has it hard being the oldest child, that is a bond that only he and I share, I know exactly what that is like.

For his birthday party, he wanted a Pirate theme.  I love planning, prepping, baking, and making of all the little details of his party.  I have so much fun doing them.  I may grumble and get a little impatient, especially as the time clock is running down and the project isn't turning out just how I like, but I would not trade those moments for anything, just to see my beloved son enjoy his celebration with his friends and family.  It has been a couple of years since the kids had birthday parties, and I have forgotten how much I love to plan them.

Blue and Gold

Last night was the Blue and Gold dinner for Cub Scouts.  Scouts has been around for 100 years, and so, the theme was HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Scouting.  It couldn't have been on a better day, it was also Nat's birthday as well.  As the usual tradition that our troop has, it was the anual Father and Son (moms are not allowed to help make/bake it) cake making contest.  So, as the procrastination set in, Nat and Charlie made this wonderful cake just 3 hours before the dinner.  I think they did a great job in just 3 hours (best part... I didn't have to make a cake for Nat's birthday).  The boys cake turned out really yummy, it was German Chocolate.  Charlie got the award, "Wilderness Survival and Readiness".  All the boys did a great job on all of their cakes.  I think there were 10 different cakes that we got to choose from for dessert.

Also, I (as the best mom ever), got pinned by Charlie last night.  He has finished all the requirements and earned his Weblo badge last night. 

Now all he has to do is concentrate for the next 2 months is earning his Arrow of Light.  Then, it is off the the 11 year old scouts.  Man, I can't believe that he will be 11 in just over 2 short months.

Happy Birthday!

Today just happens to be my baby's birthday. Well, Jimmy isn't a baby anymore... today, he turns 7 years old. It is hard to believe that he is 7 already. It seem like just yesterday I gave birth to him. Jim has blessed our lives in ways that we could never imagined. Jim is the actor of the family and loves to be tickled. His laugh is very contagious. Jim has a sweet spirit, is loving and kind, and is eager to learn.

Happy Belated Birthday to Me

On the 2nd of December way back in the day, a little girl was born to my parents. Her name to be... Nicole Odette Davis. She weighed in around 7-8 lbs. She had dark hair, brown eyes and had long fingers and toes.

I had a good, but very busy birthday. We started the day up in Meadow Vista for the kids homeschool classes, then at gymnastics. We got home where I was able to cook dinner and open up my presents from my loving family, then the best part... CAKE (which my dearly beloved husband made for me @ 5 am). I received a soap carving shaped in a heart from Mareal, and some stuffed animals from the kids stash from the boys. Later, I received the movie 'Goonies' (I laughed, I was just talking about this movie the day before), and a Mortal & Pestle from Nat. My husband is the most thoughtful person ever. He remembered a conversation that I had with my MIL the month before about me wanting to have one, and made a point to find one for me.

I enjoyed my day. I am now a 30-ish year old woman. Funny, I don't feel 3_. I feel like I'm a lot younger, then I'm remember that I am a MOM and my oldest is 9.5 years old.
